CME Group Extends Global Trading Hours for Electronic Mini Grains
CME Group, the world's largest and most diverse exchange, announced the extension of its electronic trading hours for mini-sized corn, soybean and wheat futures contracts beginning November 9. The mini agricultural contracts will trade electronically side-by-side with the grains and oilseed products already available in open outcry, which is expected to maximize access for global customers and increase opportunities for both electronic and floor trading.

Reliable, scalable, and secure, the CBOT electronic trading platform will allow the marketplace to operate with greater ease and efficiency and let its users focus on the bottom line. The platform is based on an open system architecture using an API which allows users to build or purchase trading or view-only applications to suit their specific business needs. 01.11.06
Developers
The Chicago Board of Trade selected LIFFE CONNECT as the e-cbot trading engine because of its robust functionality and superior technical architecture. Functionally, it will give e-cbot enhanced trading capabilities, better reporting, more flexible matching algorithms, and the ability to accommodate anticipated future trading needs. 01.06.06
